First Industrial launches the Product Guide

First Industrial Developments have pre-viewed the Product Guide 2011, which is due to be launched formally next year. The Guide is a pictorial booklet detailing the component parts of a standard Industrial warehouse. Its aim is to show customers clearly the specification and quality of the end product, in a simple and easy to understand manner. The Guide is suitably technical to provide a meaningful level of detail to a project manager, but sufficiently straight forward to be understood by a managing / finance director of the business. The Guide answers the basic customer question of ‘what do I get for my money’.

Matthew Byrom, Managing Director at First Industrial explains “….we felt that the property market lagged behind other sectors in terms of product information….if you purchase a new car, you walk away with a comprehensive set of colour brochures….however, all too often, an occupier has to wait a week for a 2D plan with a stapled 40 page technical specification – then expected to make a multi-million pound decision!”

Fergie Taylor, Head of Project Delivery reflects “….the Product Guide has taken us several months to develop in conjunction with our supply chain; we wanted it to be far more than a bullet specification with pictures – we have not come across anything similar in the market.” Oliver Bertram, Development Director adds “….the intention is for the Product Guide to be used as a first phase tool in progressing build-to-suit projects; feedback from our customer base has been very positive”. Oliver concludes “….it’s always nice to be first – but we hope the idea catches on within the market”.
